WHAT HAPPENED?
Odegaard signed for Real Madrid in 2015, but spent most of his career in the Spanish capital in their reserve side. Los Blancos came under heavy criticism for not giving the promising talent an opportunity in the first team.

In an interview with , Edu criticised Madrid for their lack of patience with Odegaard: "We have been following Martin for many years and perhaps we have had the patience that others have not. Now he is one of our captains, enjoying himself, and is one of the recognisable faces of our team."

WHAT GASPAR SAID ABOUT BELLINGHAM
The sporting director wasn't short of praise for the way Los Blancos have handled another young talent, Jude Bellingham, though: "Now you have to enjoy when you see him playing. We must congratulate Real Madrid and him for the great season he is having. Football is happy to have players like him. His presence is great news.”
